Commercial Superintendent

Full Time | Traveling

We are seeking highly motivated, experienced superintendents to join our team.  This is a traveling position and requires the team member to manage projects in various locations, primarily in the Southeast.  Projects range from 2 months, up to 9 months in duration. Project size range is $300k to $2 Million. The projects are all commercial, and generally a mix of interior build-outs and ground up projects. Our clients include national car wash brands, restaurants, retail and large commercial developers. All work is performed with subcontractors, and superintendents are generally not required to self-perform work.  KANECO handles costs for travel expenses, including accommodations, food, gas, truck, phone, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 5+ years construction experience on ground up commercial construction.

  • Seeking seasoned superintendents comfortable with “ground up/start-to-finish” commercial construction experience.

  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors to maintain or improve the project schedule, ensuring that subcontractors provide the proper manpower to perform the work when it is needed in a time frame to meet or improve the schedule

  • Provide direction to and resolve problems among subcontractors and vendors.

  • Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.

  • Communicate using the following tools: telephone, fax machine, written logs, email, computer, smart devices, digital camera.

  • Blueprint reading.

  • Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.

  • Monitoring jobsite general health and safety.

  • Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.

Project Bid Coordinator

Full Time Jacksonville Office

KANECO is seeking driven and highly organized individuals to join our operational support team. This position will be responsible for the coordination of multiple commercial construction projects relating to bidding, estimating, permitting, material orders, and subcontracts.

Position Responsibilities

  • Contacting subs to acquire bids for multiple upcoming projects.

  • Coordination of project permitting by completing applications, submitting payments, routing plans and corresponding with permitting agencies.

  • Prepare bid packages for review and execution.

  • Provide weekly progress updates to the project manager.

  • Provide project assistance to the project managers and other coordinators as needed.

  • Update online file and note applications such as Google Docs with current status of each project.

  • Order project materials and track deliveries.

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Coordination with other departments within the company for project closeouts.

  • Maintain a firm understanding of expectations and standards to ensure as a team the company continues to meet project deliveries.

  • Provide assessment and recommendations to better the processes used and products delivered.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Two-year college degree.

  • Strong team player attitude with excellent communication skills.

  • Must possess excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to independently manage task and self-motivated.

Preferred Requirements

  • 4 year College Degree

  • Construction knowledge and experience in a related field

  • Estimating experience or interest in learning to estimate
